Social Science Section

Profile

The Social Science Section of the Institute was established in 2006 with a view to undertake basic, strategic and applied research in freshwater aquaculture sector, to transfer institute’s technologies, to organize capacity building programmes and to maintain liaison with the fish farmers, fisheries departments and fishery industry as a whole

 

The section also handles the farmer services for the institute through organizing exposure visits, conducting exhibitions, demonstrations, interactive meetings, trainings and campaigns. Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) caters the needs of the visiting farmers to the institute. It takes care off the supply of technological products, publications and services through the single-window delivery system. ATIC receives over 4000 information seekers per year. Agri Business Incubator (ABI) facilitates the entrepreneurship development in freshwater aquaculture sector, presently 43 incubates are there in the guideship of the ABI-CIFA.
