CIFA has been selected by ASRB as one of the centre to host online ARS Prelim/Net examination. For this purpose four examination hall with a total seating capacity of 100 students to appear for online ARS Prelim/Net examination has been created. It was inaugurated by former member ASRB Dr. M. J. Modayl.

Library and information services
The CIFA Library and Documentation Unit acts as a repository of literature and information and provides latest information in the field of Freshwater Aquaculture, fish genetics and Biotechnology, fish Nutrition and Physiology, fisheries and related aspects.
Resource Development
The library has the total collection of 6991 books, 2500 bound volumes of journals, and other reference materials. The library has subscribed to 24 International current journals and 44 Indian current Journals. In addition to these some journals were received on gratis/exchange basis.
The library has been recognised as the FAO Depository Library and has a good collection of FAO Publications related to Fisheries and allied agricultural sciences.

Guest House
ICAR-CIFA has Three Guest Houses, Ashoka Guest House, Dhauli Guest House and Kalinga Hostel situated in the campus. These Guest Houses are primarily meant for official guests of the IARI/ ICAR/participants of Seminars / Workshops/ Symposia / Conferences / Training Programmes Organised by the Institute as well as those sponsored by the ICAR. Scientists/Researchers from other ICAR Institute/SAUs/ Central /State Government may also be accommodated provided they write well in advance for reservation of rooms to the Officer In-charge of the Guest Houses. Accommodation shall be provided subject to the availability of rooms at the time of arrival of the guests. The campus is lush green in the abode of nature with virgin environment.

The Mission ATIC
The corner stone of India’s blue revolution is availability of quality seeds and improved management practices for increased productivity, sustainability and stability of various enterprises. This has triggered the search by the farmers for availability quality fish seed, fish feed and other inputs, easy accessibility to diagnostic services for soil and water, health management, availability of appropriate information packages through printed, audio, video and electronic media and increased scope of Consultancy services, Often, it has been seen that the farmers are not aware as to whom and where to approach for seeking site-specific solutions to their field problems.
The establishment of Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) forged a better interaction between researcher and technology users. This serves as a single window system with an objective to help the farmers and other stakeholders both to provide solution to their location specific problems and make available all the technological information along with technology inputs and products for testing and use by them.

Regional Research Centre, Bathinda
The ICAR-CIFA, RRC-Bathinda, came into existence from the 2nd September, 2016, and is situated in the close proximity of the AIIMS, Bathinda, Dabwali Road, Lal Singh Nagar, Bathinda, Punjab, 151001. The Bathinda district is located in the southern part of the Punjab State, and it lies in between 29o 33` and 30o 36` North latitude and 74o 38` and 75o 46` East longitude. Due to its important geological location, this centre can cater the need of the fish farmers of Punjab, Hariyana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, and can play a key role in the development of freshwater aquaculture in the Northern regions of India.

Profile
The Social Science Section of the Institute was established in 2006 with a view to undertake basic, strategic and applied research in freshwater aquaculture sector, to transfer institute’s technologies, to organize capacity building programmes and to maintain liaison with the fish farmers, fisheries departments and fishery industry as a whole
The section also handles the farmer services for the institute through organizing exposure visits, conducting exhibitions, demonstrations, interactive meetings, trainings and campaigns. Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) caters the needs of the visiting farmers to the institute. It takes care off the supply of technological products, publications and services through the single-window delivery system. ATIC receives over 4000 information seekers per year. Agri Business Incubator (ABI) facilitates the entrepreneurship development in freshwater aquaculture sector, presently 43 incubates are there in the guideship of the ABI-CIFA.
